Jacki Gass

Jacki Gass is the Owner/Administrator of Sunbrook Academy at Legacy Park, which was opened in 1996. She has been an active part of her family’s child care businesses since the late 1980’s.  During that time she was involved in the development of 18 schools in the metro Atlanta area through various consulting and development contracts.  Her responsibilities included all aspects of the new school development including operating procedures, licensing compliance, hiring and training, staff development, curriculum development, classroom design and layout, and the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

In 1998, Jacki and her husband partnered with Pembrook Child Care Development to create Sunbrook Franchising, Inc. and began franchising private preschools.  As the President of Sunbrook Franchising, Inc., Jacki’s responsibilities include franchise program development, center operations, franchisee training programs and on-going franchisee support.  She has participated in the opening of five franchises in Cobb, Cherokee, Paulding and Douglas counties and is in the process of opening additional franchised locations.

In 1998, Jacki was elected to serve as the Chairperson of the Georgia Child Care Association’s Conference and Training Committee.  Serving in that capacity for four years, she coordinated state-wide and regional training conferences.  In addition she has been very active in childcare legislative activities, participating in both state and national legislatives conferences dealing with child care and children’s advocacy issues.

Jacki is a certified trainer for Bright From the Start, Georgia’s state child care licensing agency.  This allows her to train other owners, managers and teachers in child care related areas around the state of Georgia.

Jacki attended Georgia Southern University where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in Communications. She completed her Family Development Credential and has also maintained training compliance with almost 1000 hours of child care training.

Jacki and her husband live in Woodstock with their two boys,  Alex, age 11, and Austin, age 9.
